What does one do when u have found a major security loophole in a major bank's laptop security system? Do u inform the company which developed the security software or the bank itself? Do u make financial gain? if so how?

To make financial gain, tell me the loophole and I'll give you 10%. Seriously, I'd suggest telling the bank. Christian #include "std_disclaimer.h" People who love sausage and respect the law should never watch either one being made. The things that come to those who wait are usually the things left by those who got there first.

I would tell the bank... I don't thinkyou can get any money from them, without it looks like blackmail. - Anders Money talks, but all mine ever says is "Goodbye!"

I would be skeptical of whether or not you actually found a security hole. What you may have found might be by design, or a lack of understanding on your part. So before you go off accusing and pointing fingers, just be sure you have found what you think you have.

Well, for laptop security the bank decided they wanted everything encrypted + secure login etc etc. It takes less than 5 minutes for me to 1) View everything on the laptop 2) proceed to install a PCMCIA network card 3) copy everything to another machine 4) format the laptop and install Win 2000 instead of 98 NOW, that is what I call 'GREAT' design!!!! Well, obviously the computer is running Win98. Win98 has no security. None. And what security you can add is easily circumvented if you know what you're doing. As such, there is little that can be done about it. They're just trying to plug a dike and not being very successful.
