GoDaddy's Domain Transfer Experience
-
I'm really in a deep problem with GoDaddy now. It's been almost a week, since my last attempt to transfer my domain from our registar to GoDaddy. I have placed a transfer order and my credit card have been billed, but for some reason I can't access their control panel (I need to enter the EPP code). There are already 7 - 8 different support persons talked to me, and they are nothing but a pain in the arse. First they told me that I must re-check the username/password/e-mail/captcha I entered when trying to access the control panel, I did that for more than 15th times. Then they wanted me to send the screen shot. I can't believe what's this suppose to mean? But I sent it anyway. After that they wanted me to contact change department, but then the change department asked me to contact support department again. What should I do now? I'm really sick and tired of their so called support

This doesn't seems to be a good way. If I switch to another host, I have to contact my current registrar again. And contacting them and dealing with this EPP code again won't be easy. :~

Thanks Ravi, but I have my own colocated server.

Darn it! I just called my credit card company, and apparently they can't cancel the transaction, it must be done by the merchant. Oh well, GoDaddy can't cancel it either because they need me to login to my account in order to cancel it and I can't login in. I guess I'm gonna let GoDaddy steals my money

Lesson: keep the domain registration away from the web host. My domains are registered with Network Solutions but hosted by a couple of web hosts. Transferring isn't an issue: just register a domain with Network Solutions, pick my newly favorite web host and voila! If I don't like them any more I selected another web host and point the nameservers to the appropriate address. Usually switched within a few hours. Seemples.

I know this has been trouble for you, but thanks. I was just about to do godaddy service myself for a client. I'll fish around some more. as for your plight, it's their side. Stupid human question, was a password reset ever done to a default? From the discription support only asked you to verify ( slack move on their part really. If it was me, I'd have verified, then reset to default where you could try again. But eh, that's the the easy way). Good luck.

They're really good at driving me mad. They just told me that in order to get a refund, I need to login first and cancel the order in my account. The problem is I can NOT login to my account from the very start. If I can login, then why in the world did I contact them? I guess it'll be better for me to let them steal my money. Oh well :(
