This month is surely not the best month for me. After Godaddy stole my money, now I'm losing about 30% of my eyes. I can't see clearly now, it's like when your eyes are being flashed by a camera. The center of my eyes are covered by a spot. I visited an opthamologist last friday, and he gave me an eye drop and told me that I might take an eye operation if things are not getting better in the next 10 days. My wife already loses her sight, both sides (she got an RP). Losing my sight is the worst thing that can happen to us :((

Same here, this August is double circled as "The Most Troublesome Month of The Year" in my calendar.

      What operation?

Excuse me for my improper grammar and typos. It's because English is my primary language, not my first language. My first languages are C# and Java. VB, ASP, JS, PHP and SQL are my second language. Indonesian came as my third language. My fourth language? I'm still creating it, I'll let you know when it's done! :-D

When I was 8 years old I was diagnosed with Degenerative myopia, I still can see (well, my right eye is useless, I practically use just one eye) and have not started to get the symptoms yet that would trigger the red alert for my left eye (I am 27...doctor said around 40 I am pretty much screw!)... So in some way I feel your pain, my prayers are for you and your wife, I hope your doctor can solve your eye problems... Too bad I felt in love with this programming career that makes me stare at a screen for so long. Stay strong my friend.

          Degenerative myopia

I have heard there is Ayurvedic treatment for degenerative myopia in Kerala. A guy I met in an ayurvedic spa told me his sister had some treatment for an eye disorder at the Ayurvedic Medical College in Trivandrum. He didn't use the word Degenerative Myopia, he said it's a disease where the eyeglass power keeps going up and up rapidly until she goes completely blind. They decided to try Ayurveda as a last resort. She had to spend nearly a month in the Ayurvedic hospital in a completely darkened room under rigorous treatment. It seems the treatment also requires a lot of discipline and sacrifice from the patient. After the first course was over the eyeglass power had gone from -15 to -11.

Thanks for the heads up... A quick google search reveals is an alternative type of medicine (at least, not occidental) coming from India...unfortunately, that quite posses on me a geographical limitation and I don't know if that kind of medicine could be found locally where I live (Lima - Peru)... My doctor seems so negative about it, he told me every time I visit him that so far no cure has been found (it can't be solved with an eye surgery as with most myopia patients) nor an alternative method exists yet... I went to surgery when I was a kid with this doctor, he did some wonders with my left eye that prevent it to keep growing (in fact, last time I check my myopia got reduced by 0.5). After that, his advice is only one: avoid any kind of head trauma (I stopped playing soccer at 15 because of the headaches)... But I have learnt to live with my problem, I can see quite well, I have -5 at my left eye, so is not that bad, I have seen worst... Anyway, appreciate the feedback, someday I might want to give it a try... Kind regards, Jaime.

I saw this[^] in Wikipedia. It's not some medicines you take at home. The treatment requires in-patient treatment at the hospital. If you have one working eye it's best to live with it.

Awesome, thanks! My doctor says the same...I should wait until things get really difficult for me, otherwise, just use the good eye you have and avoid doing stupid things, like practicing boxing :) I will bookmark that page for future references. Kind regards, Jaime.

There's something in my retina that needs to be examined later next monday. I don't know for sure, but right now I only take this Voltaren (drop & oral). Thanks anyway.
