The new Messenger is an absolute abortion. The window is huge, and full of crap. Nish stepped out for lunch 8 days ago, apparently. And the chat window is 20% advertisement now. How do I get an older version on to Windows 7 64 bit ?

Found this site a while ago, haven't used it in a long time though. www.oldversion.com[^] They archive older versions of software, such as MSN Messenger.

There is an option to select the minimalist/small view (can't remember what it's called). I had to install it a few times on the kids computers and eventually found it, but now, not only can I not remember what it's called, I can't find it when I fired up Messanger for the first time in about 4 months on my work laptop.

The moment they heard this all the smiling face turned into a sad looking face and one of them farted. So I had to leave the place as soon as possible." - Mr.Prakash One Fine Saturday. 24/04/2004

Look near the upper right corner for a button (doesn't really look like a button) with the tooltip "Switch to compact view". That should help.
