Simple, stop all foreign aid, that way nature will decide. Not enough food? Population falls.

As cynical as it may be, this is indeed one "natural" way of deciding. Glad I am in France, then.

This is not the right place to be discussing piggy pron.

In the U.S. we have a hybrid pork/beef program, the Senate and the House of Representatives, respectively. Since the House mostly contains bulls, you can imagine their principal byproduct.

Ah, but Muslim countries do not like women to be educated, it means they can think for themselves and realise that they deserve better.

I think I would re-phrase it as highly dogmatic religious countries/communities seem to not want to have educated women people in their midst... This goes as much for Christians, Hindus, Buddhists,.... in my experience... allegedly...

While you have some good ideas that I like, according to this link[^], we won't be reaching the 7 billion people mark until November 29, 2012 11:26:56. That makes it a little more than a year (approx. 16 months) away from now. :)

But this refers to a more recent study. We all know the exact figures are just educated guesses. Lot's of people live off the grid, some countries don't really have much of a grid to begin with. And according to the UN there's been a huge increase in slave trade over the last decade... all those people live invisible lives, behind the gates of mansions, sweatshops, illegal plantations and perhaps even in your neighbors basement.

I've been in my neighbours basement and while I can attest that there are no slaves, believe me, you do not want to go there. :)

We are fucking ourselves to starvation. Then you get 'Religious' Leaders who say that breeding like vermin is the way god likes it, and that unnatural contraception is evil. Well, the resultant reduction in population will be completely natural, they will starve to death. Look at Somalia and Ethiopia, starvation and drought again, only this time there are 3 times the population as at the time of Live Aid. Contraception must be a condition of international aid. You want your food? Get your vasectomy first.

Do you know what was the root cause of the starvation that hit Ethiopia and the circumstance that led to all that tragedy? Do you know how it was solved? Do you think all the international help that was poured to Ethiopia was the reason that solved the situation? I'm talking from direct first hand knowledge. undoubtedly, there was drought in the northern central part of Ethiopia, but that was less than 10% of the whole country that got affected. The solution was to move hundreds of thousands of people to different part of the country where the natural resources are much more fertile than their original places. The root cause that exacerbate the situation was political. The movement of the affected people was hindered intentionally to turn relatively bad situation to catastrophic starvation. The same tactic was used in the same region to the same people in the early seventies as well with similar catastrophic consequences. In fact that situation led to military coup that overthrow the last king of Ethiopia. Drought hits everywhere including UK and US. The simple solution to unfettered access to those who are affected. Usually it is solved internally by moving resources to the affected area. But when the movement of the people is directly or indirectly hindered then what was simple and easily solvable becomes much more complex and catastrophic. This is true in the region you implied in your post.

                        Yusuf May I help you?
