If you're into whodunnits and techno-thrillers, I suggest Doug Preston and Lincoln Child[^]. They never disappoint.

Cool. Of course when I put in the book I had recently finished it gave me a list of books I had already read. Hardly their fault, I guess.

When I put in the Hobbit quite a few expected items came through. But the interesting part is the unexpected ones. The unbearable lightness of being Plays of Tennessee Williams Doctrine and covenants of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints The AD&D Manuals (not really reading material, per se) The Iliad The Cat in the Hat Comes back Bart Simpson's Guide to Life Frightful's Mountain I wonder what their methodology is?

Good question. Aside from being short, Bilbo and Bart have little in common. :)

Maybe it's as simple as: "a cluster of customers who purchased X have also purchased Y". I think the Bart book is a humor/personal philosophy book too. The iliad is at least a quest. Frightful's Mountain has a mountain in it. If it isn't the purchasing cluster I'm mystified.

It's interesting, but it appears to be pulling suggestions out of someones arse.

Funny, I tried Harry Potter and all I got was all other Harry Potters... Well duh  And actually when I type in the hobbit I get only other Tolkien books, like 'El Hobbit' Are you perhaps a logged in member?

Hi Hans, I tried these searches on the following on that site: The Saragossa Manuscript Dangerous Liasons Les Miserables Bacon Hamster Tristam Shandy And got no results for any of them. I think they may have some cross-site thing they are doing which is blocked by my MVPS.org mammoth 'hosts'site-filter, because I see a panel with IIS Server Error down south and east on the page. I'm not about to register for such a site. Amazon already knows my every mood :) best, Bill

Yes, after you enter the book/author name, it displays a list to make sure that's what you want, and then you click on one of the books displayed; as it says, click on the link underneath which matches best. It will then display its suggestions.

                        Best wishes, Hans
