It is not. I have no link, but this occured already ( I think last year in Spain, for instance). I remember one team whose players sat dowm 15min at the beginning of the game ( and they lost something like 11 - 1, since the other team scored about 8 goals and then waited as well ). AFAIR, this year, it was not clear if the first matchday could be played in Spain, as all teams had some problems with the federation.

Whatever happens I hope Plymouth stay afloat. Their fans are true sports lovers who took the time and effort to applaud my team (Newcastle) off the pitch two seasons ago after winning promotion, this despite being relegated in the same game themselves. Andy B

Heck, Newcastle United appear at times to be sitting down for the full 90. I hadn't realised they were on strike - maybe this is why we didn't sign a striker.

Plymouth have been doomed since England lost the World Cup bid, as they were one of the host cities and it would have paid for a new stadium for them and lots of other stuff. England complain about FIFA being corrupt, but the decision to make Plymouth a host club was a very dodgy one and questions have to be asked as to exactly why they were chosen, given the state they were in and what they had riding on the outcome. I really hope they survive, great fans who have to go further than most for every single away game, but they are not as media friendly as some so will find it harder than some others, Portsmouth for example who were never going to be allowed to go under.

Every man can tell how many goats or sheep he possesses, but not how many friends.

As for players going on strike, I am a Derby fan and Danny Higginbotham served notice on us a number of years ago because his wages had not been paid for (I think) 3 consecutive months, a clause that all players have in their contracts. The current Plymouth players have put up with far more than most players would, but there is a vast difference between wages where they are now and at the top of the game.

I care. My team nearly disappeared because of greedy owners, now they have a new stadium and are at the top of the Championship! Good luck Plymouth. Keep the faith.
