You are the intrepid one, always willing to leap into the fray! A serious character flaw, I might add, but entertaining. Said by Roger Wright about me.

Where exactly is that, Colin? I just looked at the Keyhole satellite imagery and spotted two small islands north of the Solomans that look to be underwater... could that be them? One is shaped rather like a boomerang, the other is smaller and just north of that. Both show distinct bright spots along the shores - lights, fires, moonlight reflecting off the breakers maybe. What a tragedy, if so... "How many times do I have to flush before you go away?" - Megan Forbes, on Management (12/5/2002)

Colin Davies wrote: Not just 1200 to 2000 people dead in a day, but a whole unique civilization lost Well we do not know if they are dead or not, so lets not assume they are. Also these people have lived how long on those islands? I am pretty sure they have been through storms of this size in their history and have obviously survived.

Like Paul, I wouldn't expect them to be "all dead" - but can you Aussies please have a look?
As James Bond in "die another day", Pierce Brosnan features traits handy in the dawning millenium. He fights without hesitation in a bewildering environment, trusts his high-tech-gadgets, and rather falls for beauty than pondering the political absurdities around him. [sighist]

I emailed the image, and now that I review it, I'm not at all sure it's real-time. Still, it's interesting to be able to access composite images of the entire planet anytime.:-) Great geography tool! "How many times do I have to flush before you go away?" - Megan Forbes, on Management (12/5/2002)

But try to keep the "prime directive" in mind while saving them... The less justified a man is in claiming excellence for his own self, the more ready he is to claim all excellence for his nation, his religion, his race or his holy cause. - Eric Hoffer
