I worked for 8 months or so at a Telecomm VAS provider. I had to re-write most of their servers in Erlang on FreeBSD and CentOS 4.x, that was a beautiful challenge and it exposed me to a completely different paradigm. The other job I rate very highly was when I worked as a technology lead for a super specialized plastic pipe manufacturer (who has since gone into the abyss of failed business because its owners lost money on side projects in the stock market). I had to work (and design because the Department head declined his posting 4 days before he showed up so I inherited his position's powers and duties but not the income ) on everything from PLC & Micro-controllers all the way up to Websites. That level of data integration was incredibly enlightening.

Mate of mine made a couple of films to pay of his debts after getting divorced. He got into it after doing escort work to try to earn a bit of extra cash. I didn't ask him what the IT department was like.

Well, the challenge was beautiful. Note, I don't work there anymore ;) I absolutely loathed the people I had to work for and a few of those I had to work with.

The KSS rules preclude it. But, a long time ago, I did some testing for a soft-core site in Hungary; I got the work through a friend who was rooting one of the artists. It was just nuddy-pictures and stuff; pretty much the direct early magazine -> web type site. But I did /test/ the site.

I’d like to work with embedded systems and ANCI C++. The project should be developing AI, systems control and navigation for a NASA deep space exploration drone with a fusion engine. This will make me happy.

The one I have now, I can get regular training, I get to try "new" stuff all the time, build protypes oh yeah and code too!

It was broke, so I fixed it.

I'd settle for being Salma Hayek's love monkey who codes her website on the side.
