Remember back when the weekend started on Thursday night! You pretty much stayed out all night and either got a hour or two sleep or no sleep, took a shower and went to work on Friday. Then you went out Friday night and didn't get but a few hours sleep until Sunday when you would sleep 5 or 6 hours and go to work on Monday. Sleep deprivation didn't slow you down back then. What you call sleep deprivation now was a good nights sleep then. It is old that makes you feel old. :((

Ehm, no. :sigh: Never managed to do that many days in a row without sleeping through in between, even when I were young.

That was when I first was graduated from University. I had formed a long standing pattern when in school of staying up all night Thursday night studying and then not studying again until Monday night. If something like a term paper was due and I didn't have it done I would work on it on Sunday. I only needed 5-6 hours a night back then and adapted to all nighters on Thursday easily. Now that I am sixty something I still only get 6 - 6 1/2 hours of sleep during the week and leave for work at 06:00 every morning. I haven't been late in the 4 years I have been on this contract. I do have to admit that if I don't get 6 hours I feel tired the next day. I do get a little more on the weekends but if I sleep more than 7 hours I feel tired, ironically, but all nighters are out of the question. Some people need more sleep than others.

Since I made Mustafa feel old I figured I should share the effect with the rest of you. http://wannafeelold.tumblr.com/[^]

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason? Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful? --Zachris Topelius Training a telescope on one’s own belly button will only reveal lint. You like that? You go right on staring at it. I prefer looking at galaxies. -- Sarah Hoyt

To quote Marty Feldman in one of the funniest movies ever made(*), "Too late!" (*) and if you know what movie it is, you're old.

Mine too. My wife and I have watched it so many times, we can repeat most of the script back and forth at each other :-O.
