I was never a huge Apple fan, but I can't deny the talent and vision that Steve Jobs had. People like him don't come along very often. May he rest in peace. (or should that be iPeace...!)

Not an Apple fan, but this is a great loss. I'd even say the world will not be the same. Steve Jobs, Jack Layton http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Layton[^], my mother exactly one year and one week ago today, and so many more that passed away way too soon. :rose: Sorry kid sisters, but f**k y*u cancer.

The world of technology will not be the same. It is impossible to find anyone with that talent in design. Not just his design skills but an important thing about Steve Jobs was his presentation skills. I don't think there is anyone who can present so well and make even dull subjects sound interesting. I wonder how many more innovative things we are going to miss because of him being no more.

In his own words[^] Excerpts from this commencement speech led the evening news on the west coast tonight. Little long, but interesting. :rose:

Steve Jobs on death: No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true. It's very inspiring.... "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." hats off to the legend...may hi soul rest in peace...:rose:

I've been a Microsoft guy since the beginning, but there was simply no comparison to Steve. Not even Bill. Passionate and visionary, he was a true geek hero. I knew this was coming. I just didn't think it would be this soon. Flying Apple colors to the last, he wouldn't even let himself die until the day after their annual product announcements, so as not to impede it. Inspirational to the very end. :rose:

Personally for me, I think its better if they use the word "has passed away" than "is dead".

Signature construction in progress. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yes, That's what I also thought. In my language no one will use word 'Dead' for friends and family. it considered rude, you can use it for animals or things...
