A 7-Minute Mile is Impressive

If you are a racewalker (which seems a bit oxymornic to me).

What's the hardest part about being a racewalker....

Well, telling your parents you're gay. But yes, high jump would be difficult. Along with pole-vaulting and hurdles.

I was very impressed when I was first able to do a 7 minute mile. Heck, running a mile non-stop for a programmer is probably impressive on it's own.
Need custom software developed? I do custom programming based primarily on MS tools with an emphasis on C# development and consulting. I also do Android Programming as I find it a refreshing break from the MS. "And they, since they Were not the one dead, turned to their affairs" -- Robert Frost

I did that in indoor track in high school. By virtue of being the first in my high school to do so, I owned the school record for a year. I think it was just over nine minutes. For spring track and indoor the next year, another guy tried it and blew away my record.

True. I was just Facebooking that I accomplished a 1.4 mile jog around a hill without stopping. That's a first for me. Though I think the uphills are what make that trail difficult (I could probably jog a few miles on flat land).

I can do it in about 12, but coming from a lower elevation area with less air pollution, combined with asthma, it does have bad results...generally at least have a cough for the rest of the day, occasionally accompanied by a bit of blood...my lungs are not in good shape...
