I take it you're fleshing out those Code Project rep API's then? And you've got a page (pages?) documenting the API publicly available? And it's not just a limited version of what you can access internally? Right? RIGHT?

Unfortunately I can't imagine too many companies where that sort of document wouldn't result in your cubicle being left a black, glassy crater.

Wow! Good read. He said Apple does platform with iOS, but so does Google with Android, and he also forgot Google Maps and Google Data APIs. also except Search Engine, Maps, Mail and Android google doent do anything big, and most of them are already platforms, so why he is saying Google doent get platforms?

The funniest part is that he intended to publish it on his internal Google blog, but made a mistake and posted on the internet one. Anyway, I agree - an interesting read.

Come now Hans, since when have facts stood in the way of an article making dramatic statements? :-)

Heh. You're right. That's the 2nd "big lie" incident I've read about here, in recent weeks. The first was, of course, that Steve Jobs revolutionized IT. In the case of Stevey's blog, it was clear after only a few sentences that it was self-serving and superficial. It could have been exceptional, if only he explained what the architecture actually was, or what some of the design decisions were. He decided to forego these things, and opted instead to treat us to his bitterness. Perhaps this made for an "interesting" and "fun" read, but what I took away is that with this kind of thinking, he will not be effective at google. I wonder how he feels about Steve Jobs?
Best wishes, Hans

Wow, that's a damn long rant.

No, he mentioned those as exceptions to the rule
