Why did you bring this to the lounge? For somebody who doesn't know the difference, those are fair questions and your making fun of them is crass. Perhaps you might consider reading this[^] interview with Chris Maunder to see what he thinks of this type of behaviour.

thanks for you comment - down votes don't upset me, but it is good when people explain why. I try and help as much as I can in the Q & A section even when the answer is something that a quick google would answer but sometimes you have to wonder why you bother, what I find funny is not the question (to ask what the differences between two things are means that you at least know what they are, otherwise you would get questions like, what is the difference between an apple and the sun), but that the answer to such a complex question (which I believe this is) can be answered in a Q&A

From the OP's point of view the answer needed was relatively simple. Access and Oracle are both databases but they are targeted at either extreme of the user base.
