..fucked my phone badly... I am on orange network and since i upgraded to iOS 5, I am unable to make any calls or take any calls as signal drops every 15 seconds. Full signal---10-15sec --->-- Searching -----5 secs-->-No Service---7sec->--Full signal (Keep repeating) It's so annoying, did anyone else had similar issue and if they know how to resolve it. Trying my last luck by restoring the phone to factory settings. Hope that works.. On top of it, I just ran out of warranty period last month. I tried disabling 3G but it helps a bit but not entirely.

Have you tried a restore through iTunes?

just did that and thank god it's now working and I can actually talk to people on phone and it's not just expensive ipod. But downside - i restored as a new iphone and i have lost all my old messages and few photos that i didn't synced with iphotos. Hmm not a big deal, but would be handy to have atleast old messages back as i have few information there.

If you still have backup then you can get the information. The messages are stored as SQLite database in a file in Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup. The exact name of the file you have to find for yourself. -Saurabh
