I'm getting one of these each for my wife and I later today. I have a couple of questions for those who have one of these already. The questions come about from things my current Samsung (Symbian based) can't do that my ancient Nokia could do 12 years ago. Does it have a call register that keeps track of the past several calls made to/from a particular phone number, including time made/received and duration? If I have several numbers for a contact, home, business, mobile, will I get a visual notification (different icons) for which ever number I am calling or receiving the call from? My Samsung i8910 doesn't have these basic functions and I don't want to get stuck with a shit phone again.

Have you checked out the new Nexus that Samsung just launched? 1280/720 resolution and better specs than the S2 :-). As for your questions Yes and Yes.

Myself and my wife got Galaxy Ace's a few weeks ago. Not sure what version of anrdoid i'm running but i think it's the one previous to the SII. Battery life is less than 24 hours without installing a battery saver, cause we've set them up for access to email , facebook etc... but then there's no point buying a smart phone if you're not going to use the 'smart' features. Phone book is a bit of a disappointment, one number per entry (as far as I've figured out so far). Additionally the amount of characters allowed in phone book names is very limited. There is a call log with times and durations for incomming and outgoing calls and texts.

That is one of the things I love about my HTC Hero. Standard digital camera usb port thingy. I've got loads of cables that fit it, at home, in the office, even the sat nav cable fits it in the car.

OK, good point actually. That has always been my problems when buying mobile phones: either you had the opportunity to test it yourself, or you have to rely on what others said or what biased web reviews said. And then you buy the damn thing and discover that PITA feature nobody ever mentioned. Last time when my wife wanted to buy a phone, the guy showed her some models ... without the battery. She couldn't even try them ! Seriously, M.vendor, do you believe I will buy a 300€ phone without even trying it ? :mad:

Hmmmm, not sure if it'll be the same as I've got an S2 so may be running a slightly more recent version of Android but if you edit a contact can you see a (green?) plus sign and (red?) minus sign on the right hand side of the Phone Numbers? If you can, click the + to add extra numbers.

You have a lot of lables when you're entering contacts. So yes.

I know you can multiple numbers per contact, I'm not sure about different rings for different numbers [within the same contact].

Yeah, just checked and I can enter multiple numbers per contact. The conversion of my contacts from my old nokia created a contact for each number in each contact on the old phone, so I just assumed.

Well maybe you still haven't your answer so I will answer shortly : Does it have a call register that keeps track of the past several calls made to/from a particular phone number, including time made/received and duration? : Yes If I have several numbers for a contact, home, business, mobile, will I get a visual notification (different icons) for which ever number I am calling or receiving the call from? : Yes I'm happy with S2 But i feel I should warn you about battery life: It doesn't go for a full day without charging even if you don't mess with smart features so be prepared to put an extra charger/cable at work/car. Also be sure to buy a screen protector film ( I regretfully didn't buy one till it was too late :( )

You can also 'join' those multiple coacts back together through the options menu. Hey, this is my first post from my S2, on an S2 thread as well... how odd :-)

I'm looking for different ring tones, just a different visual display. On my ancient Nokia Home number had a house next to the name, Business had a factory and Mobile had a phone. Not overly important, but when looking through the recently made/received list to call back, it's nice to be able to choose which one you want to call without have to hitn17 buttons to see what the phone number is you're about to dial.
