It will be difficult, because I think of you as still being male but hiding it. I would be lying and I really can't do that. I will do my best to avoid the situation. I hope you can understand.

Also as I am no doubt you are aware I don't believe in idly sitting by when I disagree with something. I do try and be constructively critical though.

A close friend of the family (husband of my mum's closest friend) has recently come out, and I'm finding some of the bigotted reactions of people around me very surprising (and tbh I found the entire concept a bit unreal myself, to start out) I'm glad you're comfortable at work, as he (hmm, still feels strange thinking of someone I've known all my life as a him, as a her) lectures in a university, so I imagine there could be some incredibly hurtful comments from the students. I know I was hugely reluctant to see the photos, but she does look fantastic, and more importantly, looks happy which is the most important thing, imo Oh yeah, I notice you like to Jennifer Diane Reitz's site - are you hooked on unicornjelly.com[^] too? -- Help me! It's hardly a Herculean task but I'm guessing you must have a religious angle. That can be the only explanation for such unwillingness to comply with someone else's wishes. Perhaps the only way out is to *always* make sure you say "Anna's" instead of "his" or "Anna" instead of "he". That way you will not by "lying" as you call it, and you will cause Anna no offence :) "The folly of man is that he dreams of what he can never achieve rather than dream of what he can."

I felt it only fair to warn everyone, so on with the show... Andy - dude - you don't even *look* like a girl. Andy, everyone at your job knows you as a guy. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that under their insulation of forced acceptance, several of your co-workers are saying "What the fuck!?". Make no mistake abut it, this WILL affect your ability to do your job, and it will affect your co-workers' ability as well. Everybody's been great? Does "being great" mean they're simply not openly disgusted with the idea, or that they honestly think you're doing the right thing? You don't need to respond, and nobody else does either, because I'm probably one of the few people here (if not the ONLY person) that would actually say what he thinks about this topic, and I'm honestly not interested in hearing from people that I have to be accepting or tolerant. ------- signature starts "...the staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - Jason Jystad, 10/26/2001 Please review the Legal Disclaimer in my bio. ------- signature ends

I guess honest was not the correct word to use. Let's replace honest with vocal. I don't idly sit by either, but when someone makes a choice in life that you don't agree with, sometimes you need to let them learn on their own.

I don't agree with what Anna has done with his life, but its his life. I'd rather not hear about it like John, but I think he has just as much of a right to post (in the soapbox) as anyone else. John does say what he feels, but that can get you into trouble. Sometimes its better to be quiet than to be [EDIT]vocal[/EDIT] about your feelings.
