Do you feel that these people are justified in any way? Given that currently we are dealing with a Capitalism FAIL! on a fairly wide scale. Irresponsible lending, greed, borrowing have very nearly screwed our ecconomies completely. --edit-- Some of the people who are protesting in the US are people who have lost their jobs and homes because of uncontrolled greed/fraud committed by banks and ratings agencies assigning tripple A status to any credit derivative in order to increase commision earnt. These people arent justified are they, hey, one voters? They have had their lives almost destroyed by such staggering, utter abuse and incompetence. And you dont think they have reason? You are sick.

You poor, sadly deluded boy. :) Council tenants can't afford these kind of shenanigans. I'd be willing to bet that 90% of these retards come from well-off families and, as has been pointed out elsewhere, go back to their nice warm family homes every evening.

They are tossers. They hate capitalism, and yet it is capitalism that feeds the world, makes stuff affordable, advances technology and medical science and provides us with the luxuries we would otherwise not enjoy. These people are self-loathing, inadequate and filled with the politics of envy. I say set fire to the tents, then the feckless tossers may bugger off home to their hovels and get on with their empty, unfulfilled lives.

Don't be silly. Communism her we come! Capitalism is not an ideal social model, but it works. Right now the supply is too high and the demand too low so the system is adjusting. IT WILL HURT, but it will recover. There will probably be some heavy burdens placed on the markets to get them working again and slowly they'll be removed until around 2090 everything will go FUBAR but it will be fixed again and the cycle restarts. Wash, rinse, repeat.

You don't say! :) Of course the problem we have is that you talk people into borrowing money they can;t pay back, then wrap that debt up into a credit product so complex the ratings agencies just give it a tripple A, and flog it to a bank. Hmm, some skill indeed. I didn't know BS and fraud was that valuable!

Granted the banks and Wall Street made a mess of it from there - but it started with the likes of congressmen Dodd and Franks. If hard, cold capitalism had been left to itself this never would have happened.

Yes, I have heard of that. In the UK it was pure incompetence and fraud. 130% mortgages, self certified mortgages (you could fill in the form online, putting whatever salary you liked, and get a loan), ratings agencies giving everything a triple A and managers not understanding the credit products they were buying (and that includes the bad debt coming from the US due to as you mentioned, warped socialistic capitalism.) All this created a credit and hous price bubble, the popping of which very nearly destroyed the UK (in the UK if you cant pay the mortgage, you not only lose the house, but you are responsible for paying back the difference beyween what you borrowed it for and what the repossesor of the house sells it for, not like the US, so you can imagine the impact on society of large scale reposessions should the banks have done so in oct2008 in order to generate any kind of cash to stay afloat).
