Newman and Sproull: "Principles of Interactive Computer Graphics" Knuth: "The Art Of Computer Programming, Fundamental Algorithms" The complete documentation for Visual C++ Version 1.0 QuickC for Windows original Manual! Microsoft Quick C for DOS manual! And they will have to go to the tip! They are way too heavy to sell on FleaBay - the postage costs would cripple it, and the local charity shops won't want them. How can I chuck this stuff? :((

Reminds me of an old gag... And there, deep in the recesses of the darkest part of the cave network, they found a chest, and, locked inside was a book thought lost for centuries. Carefully they extracted it, and with immense care and attention slowly opened the pages. Filled with awe and wonder at the contents, they knew it was valuable and yet forbidden. Great. When I got that book, I was about 12 years old and really wanted to get a computer. Not that I had anything near what an Atari 800, Apple II or, if it must be, a TRS-80 would have cost. That's why I used to raid every nearby store where they had any computers and was regularily thrown out. Except for the local Radio Shack, where one day some man in a suit told his guys not to throw me out, but to put me in their little classroom when it was free :) This really was fun :)

Build an extension? That gives you more attic space :laugh: Or I bet you can go through the other stuff in the attic and find things which are less valuable (in sentimental terms) than this stuff. We recently had to clear our attic so we could put roof insulation in, and some of the crap that had been put up there 20 years ago we were like " ... why did we put this up here? /me bins". And there's a good chance that even if the filtering doesn't do a lot you can repack in a more space-efficient manner and fit the computer stuff in there too. I'm not sure about some of those books but the Knuth one at least is a piece of CS history and you should find a way to keep it.
