I'm moving the computers and setting up a office in a room we don't use much, so I'm clearing it out first. This has stuff in boxes that I haven't opened since we moved in - nearly 8 years ago. So, I'm going to be ruthless! Honest... Oooh look! One of Michelles silver cat earings - oh, and a silver chain. She hasn't even noticed they are gone. Books! Newman and Sproull: "Principles of Interactive Computer Graphics" Knuth: "The Art Of Computer Programming, Fundamental Algorithms" The complete documentation for Visual C++ Version 1.0 QuickC for Windows original Manual! Microsoft Quick C for DOS manual! And they will have to go to the tip! They are way too heavy to sell on FleaBay - the postage costs would cripple it, and the local charity shops won't want them. How can I chuck this stuff? :((

You could use it for winter heating (apart from Knuth, that must stay).

Don't sell them at all. This[^] was my first programming book ever. I still have it and don't ever want to get rid of it.

And from the clouds a mighty voice spoke:
"Smile and be happy, for it could come worse!"

And I smiled and was happy
      And it came worse.

C++ and Java? Why did they not include some Assembly, BASIC or PASCAL, just to get the entire picture? :)

If you chuck the Knuth, you'd better not admit it in the Lounge. There are ways to find out your address. ;)

Same here, this one [^] I bought in '81 to augment whatever the school furnished to us in programming class. The first TRS-80 themed books I got from these authors. All books still on my library  -- RP

At least judging by the cover. Ironically, I never picked up that habit.

In the UK they do. A google search for uk:computer user group returns nearly half a billion hits. Whilst admittedly not all of them would be valid, at least 90% of the first few pages are.

The last three I would just put in the recycle bins. Period. They are far too technical for products that no longer exist. I still have my copies of Newman and Sproull and Knuth. About a year ago I had to break out the "Principles of Interactive Computer Graphics" to brush up on my knowledge of polygon clipping.
