'Cause I think the Wandsworth Prison team should be pretty good next summer...

Best news I've read in a long time but I doubt they've even scratched the surface if the problem.

I'd make sure it's the Ladies Side before you put the money down - they eat the boys alive!

I did not know that insects had sports teams! Great news!! Did anyone start a Bacteria sports team yet? I would bet on the Flu team - They get you everytime. ;)

I know what you mean, Michael Clarke Australian cricket captain and Simon Katich dropped cause he's not batting well enough. There has to be a bookie in there somewhere, or a selector that didn't mind a bit of bum loving with Clarkey.

Michael Martin Australia "I controlled my laughter and simple said "No,I am very busy,so I can't write any code for you". The moment they heard this all the smiling face turned into a sad looking face and one of them farted. So I had to leave the place as soon as possible." - Mr.Prakash One Fine Saturday. 24/04/2004

I think Lara B had saw knees for a long time after his selection as captain, there are a lot of selectors after all.

Think you mean sore. Clarkey wouldn't have let Lara in on the action, he would have done it all himself. Genration Y poofter and I reckon the Kim Hughes of this generation, the only difference will be that his Clarkes team is way stronger than Hughes, so will be able to carry him. Plus there is no scab tour of South Africa this time paying comparatively huge money to entice Clarke away from the team. Fuck I wish there was though, don't like him, don't rate him and would prefer Warne to come out of retirement to captain Australia and I think Warnes a cunt.

yeah.... The Longest Yard and all that....[^] On the other hand, being a Pakistani, I am both sad and satisfied with the verdict. Satisfied because this will hopefully stop people from doing things like defaming their own country in the future and Sad because our board should have dealt with these issues long time back. Had they been a bit stricter to the past players involved in similar things, this wouldn't have happened.

I totally agree. Now, it is ICC and all the cricket boards' responsibility to come up with solid mechanism that will stop these things happening and catches the culprits who are still part of this rotten game.

That will never happen. Look at this incident, the ICC gave short bans (5 or 10 years) while a British court of law thought the crimes sufficient for incarceration. Everyone is scarred of being labelled racist, just look at what's been done to Darrell Hair.

Probably yes but with new people now responsible, it looks like a step in the right direction (at least from what the new chairman is saying in public)

I really hope that it is not corrupt to the very core but yes, this is a huge possibility. At this moment, it seems like shifting our blame to others but I really believe that there are a lot of other players from other countries as well who are involved in similar things. We have examples from past to justify this. That's why I said that ICC and boards should take responsibility now to eradicate this rotten thing from its core.

Hmmm, Warne and Waugh gave pitch information to an Indian bookie, Bob Woolmer turned up dead the day after Pakistan lost to Ireland. I think the corruption within Pakistani cricket is in an entirely different league to anything else going on in the game. I wont ever pay to see Pakistan play again.

Here is a list[^] Unfortunately, Pakistan leads the pack by having 5 players in the list but India and South Africa aren't far behind. Another good article which mentions a lot of such incidents[^]

Had I not been a Pakistani, I would have done the same. :( Let me clarify myself, I am in no way defending anyone. This is a heinous crime and the punishment, IMHO, was not as much as I had in mind. Had it been in my hands, then I would have trialed these three players for Treason when they come back to Pakistan after serving their jail sentence. The only point I want to make is that Cricket all over the world is not clean and its about time that some serious work be done about it.

Yep, you're right but it's a tough problem. Football has similar issues.
