Several times today. Curiously, the story shares space with news about Leslie Nielson's death.

My Android phone hasn't get any keys.

Every man can tell how many goats or sheep he possesses, but not how many friends.

How does it smell? No, sorry, wrong joke.

We call our dog Snoopy. Not because he looks like Charlie Brown's dog, but he keeps hacking our e-mail.

Yeah, read it several places and it bears noting that it isn't just android phones. The video specifically mentions he has seen it on Nokia and RIM phones as well. It is something that appears to be put on at the carrier level. In his case (and mine) Sprint.

                Katherine Rushton wrote:

Mr Eckhart, claims it is used by manufacturers of phones that use Google's Android operating system, as well as some BlackBerry and Nokia handsets. It is not thought to be used in Apple’s iPhones.

For what it is worth, on /. someone claims to have contacted AT&T to ask about this and the CS rep said they do not use this software. At least for android, you can root your phone and install a custom rom from a dev you trust. Software gone. It probably isn't on Apple because they got in trouble for something similar already. Edit: My mistake on the "not thought to be on iPhones" if I had just peeked at my news feed. Apparently they found traces of it in everything from v3.1.3 up to v5 for carrierIQ as well. You just have to make sure your phone is not in diagnostics mode and it won't send anything.
