I somewhat agree... depends on what the video is on. If it's introducing some new technology/feature/or something like that, then I actually like videos, specially because when it comes to looking at that, I'm usually browsing taking a break from looking at code (i.e. reading).

I have never watched a video to learn about a technical feature. But to be fair the vast majority of technical content presented as text sucks as well. I usually just look for several examples and then try to guess what it really does.

Totally on the same page, and I mean "page", and not 2:37 in to some video feed of a group full of guys making in-jokes with 5 seconds of technical content per minute. C'mon guys, seriously. I appreciate the effort in getting to know the teams involved, but I need to _read_ about the technical changes, not spend 3 hours a day watching movies. At the very least run it through some speech recognition so I can skim the content to see if it looks interesting. I'm feeling old.

What people want is interactive guidance. I think webcasts/conferences are probably the way to go, but the cost is too high.

It's all the kids they let near computers now. They asked for "more samples", they got it. To bad they didn't specifically ask for quality samples.

I refuse to learn from video. I also refuse to watch news that comes as a video feed. Give me words or you've lost me.

I think They're talking to the same mystery group of developers they constantly poll when they want to start working on the next version of visual studio. These same mystery developers are the ones that help determine what new features will be added, or what bugs should be fixed.

This. Not the old part, obv. I'm in an open plan office and I like to catch up while compiling. Video content is therefore useless to me unless I want to spam the whole office with the noise, or put on headphones and miss the lunch van. Also you don't need to press pause on a page of text, you just stop reading. Then when you come back you don't need to use a seek bar to regain the context of where you were.

Most FAQs are not frequently asked questions at all but marketing's vision of what questions should be asked. I hate video content as well.
