Here in Brazil we're 511 years without a government. We just have money leechers that call themselves politicians. We're sad for not being elected the "most corrupt country", but next year we'll be there for it. The country is beautiful, but the government machine makes it damn expensive. At least you have a government now, I hope it do better than the last.

She's cleaning some, but one fall another one rises. I really like what she's doing, but the way things are here, she just can't clean the house, only her room. The problem isn't only the ministers, the senators, the deputies, the states governors, the whole lot is infested. Just yesterday became public that the deputies of one of the smallest states just increased their earnings from R$39000(~US$22000) to R$100000(US$55000). It's only 1000 times the minimum wage. Brazil's beautiful and a great country for those who don't live in there. An average apartment here is more expensive than a luxury one in Miami. We have a saying that fits perfectly:"Brazil is country of the future. Always was, always will." Every country has it's problems. It's good to know that the country finance is going fine, but the cost of it it's the people life quality. We work an average of 150 days per year only to pay taxes that we never see reverted in quality, schools, hospitals, or whatever would help the people. By september this year was already collected R$1tri in taxes that we'll never see helping the people. Brazil's problem is the brazilian people, most of them are corrupt, or at least corruptible, our governors aren't different, they're brazilian too. We have and amazing capability to adapt, what we call the "brazilian way", and by doing "that way" they're getting rich by the cost of others poverty.

541 days. That's how long it took to get a new government in Belgium (or at least something that should pass as one). Even before the government was formed we had manifestations and bickering and argueing about the budget costs, new taxes, the fact that there are too few or too many ministers of that part of Belgium in the government and even one wing of a party complained about the number of represented women. Budget costs? Easy, start with not paying these guys for the 541 days they didn't do anything book results. :mad: Anyway, we have a government again, yeah :)

Shoot, here in the US, we have government with a capital G. Thanks to our senate, we're going on year #4 without a BUDGET.

I agree. Here we have what we call "bread and circus" politics. Give the people food enough for them to not die starving and 6 soccer championships per year so they don't complain that we steal their money =) Sad truth. But hey, we're rich, one of the most growing economy in the world! And the people buy it. Talking about buying, we pay the minimum of 60% taxes on EVERYTHING, from food to electronics, cars, etc.. That's why the country economy grow so fast. The country has money, the people don't.

No luck for us. The companies pay 100% of the employees salary to the state and then the employees pay up to 27,5% to the state too. So we receive about 36% of our "real" wage.

LOL in Belgium if I have a salary of 100€. The company pays 100€ to the state, 100€ to me of which I give 50€ to the state and get 50€ for myself. The first 100€ I never even see. it does imply however that if the company fires me, they save 200€ instead of 100€. (hence the first action a company takes to save money is to fire people) With this 50€ I pay, in most of the time, 21% to the state for goods, 6% in case it is something like food and up to 75% or more in case of gas, petrol, cigarettes, ... On top of that we have taxes on city level.

We're DOOMED. 6% tax is a legend here, never seen it. The minimum tax here is 25%, the average is 60%. As Apple has it's iDevices like Ipod, Iphone, Ipad, here we have the iTaxes like ipva, iptu, icms. Everyone has the "i" they deserve or don't
