The irony that you say you don't care about downvotes and then complain about them. To be fair, I do the same - it's never nice to receive them, but ultimately they don't matter. It's not as though you can actually buy anything with the points. In Code Project, points don't mean prizes.

I've been there on CP long enough to know that as soon as I post this, I would be downvoted. But my point is now I know my answer is wrong but not why.

I couldn't care less about that issue too. I don't mind if someone tells me that I have an error in an answer or have missed the subject of the question. Errors happen, we are developers. A downvote would be OK for me in such a case. But I would like to know why.

Actually, I found a place that gives a discount on ammo based on CP reputation points.

Actually, you don't know it's wrong. You just know someone downvoted it and that's a completely different thing.

He's not complaining about the points. He's irritated that people downvote his answer without a supporting argument. Happens to me A LOT, like yesterday when I told a guy to search google, and to add the word "breasts" if he wanted more search results returned. I got 1-voted for that with no supporting argument. Pffft!

Did you mention cup size?, real or implants? I would be confused too, you have to be a little more specific. :)

Any time I post something that pokes at the 'Right Wing', I know I'll get a slew of down-votes. For some, perhaps, gathering points for posts is the goal of the posting. I pretend to myself that "the post's the thing" (excuse me, Billy Shakespeare). It's also an established fact (nay, 'tis a law of nature!) that anyone who downvotes my posts is thereby taking the Troll's Oath and will be damned to GWBasic for all eternity when their Karma ripens.
