Actually, you don't know it's wrong. You just know someone downvoted it and that's a completely different thing.

Yeah. Good point, But that makes it trickier in a way.

Its not the down-vote. What bugs me now is I know my answer is wrong but not why.

I see it in a similar way. Points do not really interest me, but when somebody obviously disagrees, then I would at least like to know the reason.

And from the clouds a mighty voice spoke:
"Smile and be happy, for it could come worse!"

And I smiled and was happy
        And it came worse.

CG once downvoted my answer and provided a 'nice' little reason. Ok it went something like "if you expose a public property in my team I would fire you." I really liked his answer. I have used public properties sparingly ever since. My respect, even with that downvote, grew for him.

No it was not that bad. :) It was a public property that could be used to communicate between two forms. There are other better ways to communicate between forms.

And, in the worst case, I still have connections to people going through air defense training - in Texas. Accidents do happen in training...

He's not complaining about the points. He's irritated that people downvote his answer without a supporting argument. Happens to me A LOT, like yesterday when I told a guy to search google, and to add the word "breasts" if he wanted more search results returned. I got 1-voted for that with no supporting argument. Pffft!

I figure that if he gets really good results (even if they're not what he was actually after), he would start to use google more often without being prompted to do so.

Yeah those are generally the ones who are looking for in-built .Net functions for a library or hotel management system.

I propose that CP require users to give a reason for every time they up-vote or down-vote anything (e.g. article, post, etc.).
