Hello! My ISP is WindStream and all day today there DNS servers have been going down (4 hours this morning between 4:45 and 8:45AM). This made me really mad so the last time they went down I switched to use Googles DNS servers and so far not only am I able to surf the internet again all pages seem to load much faster!! I thought I would post this so other can try them out as well if they like. Primary: 8.8.8.8 Secondary: 8.8.4.4 Here is a link to the Google Code page http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/[^] EDIT: Because I did not have the forethought to keep a list of DNS servers before this happened between 4:45 and 8:45AM this morning I spent my time typing in random IP Addresses to see what I could find. Needless to say I found some pretty strange stuff!! http://76.12.254.18/[^] :omg:

Handy! I use 4.2.2.2 as my emergency backup, which used to be owned by Cisco, but is now Level Three Communications owned. No one has ever objected to this, but it's rude to use someone else's DNS service without permission, so I think I'll make the switch. :-D

My first thought was to look up a "Farmer's Daughter" joke. Then I decided I'd just mention it, make it a meta joke and get on with my life. Here you go: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=farmers+daughter+jokes[^] I think I should have a list of dns servers around just in case. I think I'll hang them on my website that is hosted by someone else. That ought to do it. :)
