It has been a year since I became more active on CodeProject and my first article, in that time I have made it to the following : - 77,309 points - Ranked 63rd - 5 Platinums, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze - fastJSON article 503,528 views (in 10 months) The past year has been educational, gratifying and humbling. Educational because I have learned so much more than I could have imagined starting. Gratifying because I was able to give back to the community after using it for so long and the appreciation of people using what I have written. Humbling because of comments and criticisms of others and the genuine smartness of fellow members which put you in your place and keep you honest. I would like to thank Chris Maunder for providing me and others a place for contributions (hamsters permitting!). Luc Pattyn for commenting early on "to get rid of those bronzes". OriginalGriff, Sergey Kyrukov, Abhinav S and others in the QA for their contributions forum and putting up with me in there. Also I would like to thank my partners in crime in the various places in CP who gave support and helped. To new friends. Cheers, happy new year and thanks to all.

Congratulations. That's quite an accomplishment in 1 year. One minor correction though - it's Luc Pattyn.

I won't be leaving Canberra until Saturday morning and need to go straight to the chiropractor (if I make it before she closes) so don't reckon I'll make it. I'm having a drink at the customers Christmas party Friday (my company hasn't had me at the past two they had) but have actually had to give up the piss (doubt I'll stay off forever) as my A1C (3 - 6 month sugar average) was 10.8 when it needs to be under 7. Doctor was talking about giving me insulin, so finally after 13 odd years I better take the diabetes seriously. Now if only I hadn't let myself get obscenely obese I may not have gotten diabetes in the first place.

Thanks, but I'm still pissed around the obese part of the diabetes. I've never been over 215 and I'm 6' 2", that ain't fat, even when I'm unfit I'm not.

I'm 6'5" and used to weigh 275lbs. I now way 245. I have 15 more pounds to lose. At 275 I was considered obese and now I am overwieght. They basically want me to be skin and bones. Welcome to the club. :)
