Funny, my duaghter had caught on early by her own conclusion the Santa thing was a farce (by 4-5 years old). But she didn't say anything because she thought we'd stop buying presents if she let on that she knew.

It was broke, so I fixed it.

My daughter pretty much figured out on her own around 11-12. She kept trying to poke around to get us to admit to it. We just told her that if she didn't believe in Santa, he probably wouldn't bring her anything. She is 14 now, and lets us have our little fantasy. :-P She does still go in for pictures with Santa for us though. It's a thing we have done since she was born, has grown to include her two brothers, and looking at the progression of year after year is really neat.

My son asked me that just this weekend. I wouldn't give him a straight answer. I think the doubt is beginning to settle in. We had just seen Arthur Christmas a few hours earlier, so that may have been a factor. Very good movie.
