A cow-orker just handed me a skewer with a piece of chocolate covered BACON on the end of it that his wife made. It is an interesting combination of flavours to say the least... :)

It is a great combination! The flavor of dark chocolate goes very well with the smoked piggy goodness that is bacon. My personal favorite combination is a cake I made. Two layer chocolate cake with dark chocolate ganache. Between the layers was crumbled bits of bacon fried until crisp and then topped with more bits. I think I might have to make another for New Years. You have to use thick cut bacon though. To little and the chocolate overpowers it.

I forget where it was (maybe a fair), but I once had the opportunity to try chocolate covered bacon. Delicious.

One of the best creations I ever came up with was taking a potato chip/crisp (the thick kettle cooked kind), a small piece of milk chocolate, and a piece of bacon to cover. It was like dinner and dessert in one bite. Delicious. I'll admit it might have been a bit of an alcohol fueled discovery, but don't that detract from its greatness.

We had a potluck this year and I made chocolate covered bacon. I'd never made it nor had it, but it went over very well. I even went through and tried various different toppings: -Cocoa powder -Coconut My favorite was a toss up between plain (no toppings) and cocoa powder. And yes...thick cut bacon is a must.

Is that someone who orks cows, and if so, how does one train to be an orker?
