Why SO sucks today.

And pretty much all other days. People will downvote other answers, just so theirs rises to the top. Also, people will upvote bad or not-especially-good answers just because they were posted by a well-known person.
I don't feel this in my daily use of SO, but maybe that's just me. For myself, I'm trying to get the 'sportsmanship' badge: http://stackoverflow.com/badges/805/sportsmanship[^] :D

Sounds like CP
If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." - John Quincy Adams
You must accept one of two basic premises: Either we are alone in the universe, or we are not alone in the universe. And either way, the implications are staggering” - Wernher von Braun -
@harold aptroot - I think this comment as a broad statement is a tad unfair. Speaking personally as someone who is now diving into the obj-c world, I've found there have been so many game-changing additions to the language & tools lately that you sometimes need a place like SO to clarify what the hell is going on - it feels like quicksand. And SO is a good resource for getting best practice advice too. I think that if the people writing the tutorials & blogs that "googling" uncovers would specify exactly what they're writing about, then their much appreciated hard work would be so much more beneficial to those they're trying to help. Using obj-c as an example, there can be much difference in the approach between Xcode versions, a different interface design approach with or without storyboards, much difference in the code between retain-release/GC/ARC, & capability differences depending on the deployment target set. Add all those variables together & us new-language noobs feel swamped! In the end, I know I'll be better for it, but as a noob it can be confusing. Have a great xmas! :)
