Hmmm, I used to be quite accurate with a machine gun, but never had the bad idea to fire it standing and casually hold that heavy thing with one hand :) But don't be afraid, by now I'm probably out of practice. Isn't there someone from Texas here who will assure me that it's like riding a bicycle and that you never really get out of practice? :)

I've done that, :-O On an FN MAG the recoil basically compensates the weight. But you still won't hit the broadside of a barn, unless you stand inside it.

No need. If (hypothetically) a cowboy from Texas would post something about shooting here, I would take comfort in the thought that he is about 1/3 of the world away :)

Your poor arm if you ever try that with the old MG3 :)

And it came worse. It has a nasty rate of fire that one, I've sadly never tried it.

I have thrown a few grenades and I could have pulled out the pin and kept them in my hand all day without anything happening. The typical grenade has a second safety which falls off when you release the grenade and then it will explode after 3 - 5 seconds. However, you are always gambling with your and others' life when you try to use any kind of weapon without knowing what you are doing.
And from the clouds a mighty voice spoke:
"Smile and be happy, for it could come worse!"And I smiled and was happy
And it came worse.Uhm it's the Congo, the guy has never handled a grenade before and probably has not benefited from 1000s of war movies. I think Darwin got his just deserts.

You held an FN MAG with a full magazine on with one hand? Standing? And Shooting? And no one in the vicinity go hospitalized? Or your foot got shot? Was it full gear on or on the nude? Any dead birds in the area?

Why do you want to know that? Is this rule 34 again?

Possibly. I admit the stupidity on many levels, but what don't you do to win a bet.

First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it. :-D
