    I wouldn't bet any money on the outcome when a no-brainer is to decide on a no-brainer. :wtf:

    Take a bet on the f'uped solution; I think that's the way we'll go. Then when it goes FUBAR in production we'll suggest switching over to the sensible solution and charge them ++ for plugging in a cable and re-doing some simple config. Simples.

      Hey Nagy, this is a bit scary - I had a similar meeting yeasterday ...

      +-------------+ +--------------+ +-------------+
      | Source |---->| WebSphere MQ |---->| Destination |
      +-------------+ +--------------+ +-------------+

      vs

      +-------------+ +-------------+ +--------------+ +-------------+ +-------------+
      | Source |---->| Rabbit MQ |---->| WebSphere MQ |---->| Rabbit MQ |---->| Destination |
      +-------------+ +-------------+ +--------------+ +-------------+ +-------------+

      The WebSphere MQ can be reached from both the source and the destination ... and the guys arguing for the second approach are developers too. So yeah, I can understand your frustration :doh:

          For the umptenth time I wish Den makalösa manicken[^] was available in english. It's about a professor that has created a somewhat overly complicated eternity engine - and the lyrics is oddly appropriate with regards to the endless number of transformations data goes through on it's way from a to b to c to d to e ... to z in this modern day and age.

                I dunno. What's in the Bloat Box?

                Their software. ;) It takes in each message and decides which router to send it to. The router software can actually do everything their f'uped bloatware does; only it's faster. I love having to keep 83 conflicting egos on the up at the same time. :-D

                As a person who prefers his own code to that of others' more concise, better behaved, and technically superior software, I have to side with the client on this. Besides, I have a soft spot in my brain for redundant processes. I think it may be a tumor.

                  unless those redundant processes are guitar riffs continuously making you headbang like a 15 yr old rock fan, you should have someone look into that... ;)

                    Not far off it. I think the slow router takes the messages out to lunch first before forwarding anything.

                        Looking at a set up of a data feed. There are two options available that I shall now illistrate through the medium of ASCII boxes: Option :-D :

                        +-------------+ +-------------+
                        | Source |---->| Destination |
                        +-------------+ +-------------+

                        Option :( :

                        +-------------+ +-------------+ +-------------+ +-------------+
                        | Source |---->| Bloat Box |---->| Slow Router |---->| Destination |
                        +-------------+ +-------------+ +-------------+ +-------------+

                        Go on, I dare you all: which option does the client think is best? :doh:

                        If they're so brain-dead, they won't notice if you did that:

                        +-------------+ +-------------+ +-------------+ +---------+
                        | Source |--+->| Bloat Box |---->| Slow Router |---->| NIRWANA |

                        +->| Destination |
