You still have people in the office at any time?

The group affected by the outage (repairs to a SourceSafe 'data base') are all located in Dayton, Ohio, US. I'm the first in, usually around 6:00 a.m. The latest one in shows up around 8:30 to 9:00. We're on flex-time, so this isn't a big deal.

... when you send a broadcast e-mail regarding an outage, even though no one is in the office yet, and won't be for another hour. :sigh:

Sounds like my local ISP: Its network status page always shows everything is working acceptably as it is not updated when there is a fault because no-one would be able to access the page until the fault is fixed. I also know of a large Data Centre which has an Up Time running into several years (probably decades now) as it excludes scheduled downtimes and unscheduled downtimes from its stats.

Power-mad is part of the sysadmin job description. Isn't this question like asking, "You know you're a lying politician when..."
