Dij the Cat stood on my computer today - and as is the way with cats, trod on the power button. "Hah!" Thought I - "Fooled you! I stopped windows looking at that and shutting down the computer weeks ago." Forgot the PSU looks at it and shuts down if you hold it for three seconds, didn't I? Dij obviously knows more than I do... One hard power down later... Power up, power down, power up... "GET YOUR DAMN FOOT OF THE BUTTON" Ok, no damage done...Except in VS. Biggest file for the project is blank - power off at just the wrong time. No problem - that's what backups are for! I like backups, mine are automated every hour...the worst I can lose is one hours work. What do you mean "cannot connect to NAS?" The damn NAS is frozen. Reboot the NAS. The damn NAS is bricked. Will not power up. Again. Third time, it's been replaced twice already... So, my code is missing. My backups (if they exist) are inaccessible. And I need a new NAS, because I am fed up with this one. Pretty much everything I did last week is either gone, or suspect. I'm not having a good day...

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and my solution was; swear a lot, stomp around the house a couple of times, go get drunk. in that order. In my case I quit drinking about 4 years ago so when I got home got stuck in a ditch and when my neighbor helped me get out I sliced a brand new tire on my truck that ended up costing me $110. So then I repeated the above sequence without the getting drunk part. Just trying to save you more grief. :)

Will not power up. Again. Third time, it's been replaced twice already... So, my code is missing. My backups (if they exist) are inaccessible. And I need a new NAS, because I am fed up with this one. Pretty much everything I did last week is either gone, or suspect. I'm not having a good day...
