I ordered some Garam Masala (as my local Tesco doesn't stock it) and it arrived today. Only it didn't - Tandoori Masala arrived instead. I'm sure that'll get sorted, but now my office smells heavily (and wonderfully) of Tandoori and I'm getting really, really, hungry...

Your Tesco does stock one of the most common of Indian Spices? I suppose there is not much call for it up the valleys. You should use Sainsburys, they stock it.

I buy my spices from the local Asian or Chinese Foodstores, you get 4 times the spice for a fraction of the price. Look for the Natco and TRS brands.

Normally, so do I - but the local (as in less than 20 miles away) Chinese supermarket looks like it has just closed down. :((

I wish my office smelled of Tandoori goodness. :sigh:

What's wrong with good old English curry powder? [Makes a mad dash for the door]

Wow! I am really surprised - I imagined you would be much more pure than stooping to the level of English curry powder :omg:

I don't use it in curries. But it is excellent when used in flour when making chicken wings, or made into a paste for spreading on sausages, or for a sauce for chips.
