Not really defending the guilty, just reminding us all that the economic catastrophe was already in place. What I have noticed, over the long haul: Democratic deficit spending, and they have the catch-phrase "Tax and Spend Democrats" Republican deficit spending, and the catch phrase is "Borrow and spend Republicans" In either case, the middle class ultimately pays the bills. And, listening to their speeches, everyone knows what they want to do to fix the problems - i.e., streamline government and/or make jobs and/or ad nauseaum . What they don't have is a rational plan, nor are any willing to do anything that negatively impact their supporter/power-base. Pretty much they claim to trim the pork but make sure they bring home their bacon.
