Has anyone found a good program that can easily (and properly) produce a searchable catalog of data CD-ROM contents (rather than audio), typically of system backups of multiple development machines? Some of the programs I have tried (very briefly) wouldn't follow a path through a directory that only had another directory and no files. I may end up with this when backing up "machine1" to the root of a CD-ROM by creating a directory called "e:\machine1\" and then for a second machine "e:\machine2\". The root directory therefore only contains 2 directories. Dave "You can say that again." -- Dept. of Redundancy Dept.

http://www.whereisit-soft.com[^] The only piece of shareware I've ever found to be worth registering. Coming from me, that's saying a lot.

Ditto here - I was also going to recommend this. Been using it for years.

I use dir y:\ /s /b /a > cd_contents.txt and anything that can do find in files. Low-tech but it works for me. ;P
