The orignal version was fun, SC2k was ok, but SC3 and SC4 are just boring as hell, and it runs like a dog on my Uber Box. It went back to the store. Wake me when Unreal 2003 ships in the spring.

It's the new math! 421 == 156 ! -

I was kind of looking forward to getting SC4. It's been while since I played SC3, but I loved it! I am wondering if SC4 uses any hardware accelerated graphics. I have pretty descent graphics card but since SC3 really doesn't utilize much of its capability, it was very slow to on screen. SimCity Rocks!

I did. But now I'm saving up money to build a real city. ;) I might give it a go, but I feel like I don't have the time or patience to play it though. :( -- Only in a world this shitty could you even try to say these were innocent people and keep a straight face.

soichi wrote: I am wondering if SC4 uses any hardware accelerated graphics. It does... there's an article on the SimCity website about it; it's still isometric view (not full 3D), but it's all rendered using 3D hardware functions. It's isometric so they can scroll the screen by just copying the screen over to one side and rendering the uncovered strip; they say it's all too detailed to render the whole screen continually in real time. Their web site isn't responding at the moment so can't find a link.

To be honest I have never tried it, but I ordered it yesterday. Looking forward to give it a go :) - Anders Money talks, but all mine ever says is "Goodbye!"
