Father's last lesson
-
References: here So it finally happenned...yesterday my father was recovering well from pneumonia so doctors tried to get him out of assisted breathing, but his heart was not as good as they thought due to the last cardiac arrest so he finally passed away... I'm sure each of us thinks very highly of our parents and I'm not exception. 74 years old, I could never beat him in chess or arm wrestling. Last 2 years he didn't play soccer as he used to, due to medical advice but he would still punch his old box bag 30 minutes straight, as he always loved this sport. I spent most of last year living with my parents so I'm not sad because I spent all time I could with him...there's the feeling that I could do more for him but he was very proud and will never use help if he could do anything on his own ;) My father taught me how to speak in english, to read, to fight, to not be afraid of the dark among many other things...even to play videogames! Fathers never stop teaching us, mine is now teaching me how much you can miss another being. He will never let me put my hands down and I'm not willing to now, he will probably come and punch me in the liver or jab my face :-D Farewell dad.

That you can make a post like this speaks much not only of him but of you and what you learned from him and while the loosing a parent is no easy thing I do thank you for this insight into what our parents attempt to teach us and hope we will learn. :rose:

:rose: I am sure your dad would have been proud to see you post something like this. Your post reminds me of a movie Vaaranam Aayiram[^] (one of the regional language movie in India). It is one of my favourite movie, the story was inspired by many other films, but it was also based on the true life story of the director and his dad. Hats off to you and your dad.
