Because even hardcore programmers know when to make a pause for the really important things in life... namely Beer, Bacon and hmmm significant others... ;)

Because on Sundays we are at home coding. The rest of the week we are just avoiding work. I'm only here because the country I live in starts its working week on Sunday.

It is very interesting how in some places in the world they do things differently from the way you do them. I was even very surprised that December 25th is not the day some countries in Europe celebrate Christmas. They have a different day for Christmas. Fascinating :)

"Julaften", on the 24th. of December is when we celebrate Yule[^], if you asked the average Scandinavian about "Kristmesse"[^] - the 25th of December, it's pretty likely he wouldn't understand which day you where talking about. So we don't have a different day for Christmas ("Kristmesse").

I wish! Got more work to do in weekends (all the stuff I don't get to during the week because I'm busy helping others and being invited to meetings) :sigh: At least the overwork pays good and they're not full workdays either...

That's right, they are. They are all too busy coding to bother with the lounge.

Weirdly enough, when I was told about the weekend, the guy joked "pretend we're all Jewish and it'll makes sense", which was pretty funny given that he is an Arab. I was looking across at Jerusalem & Jerico only yesterday. My wife and I stayed at Ma'in springs and we took the route up to Mount Nebo up the hills on the Jordanian side of the Dead Sea. The view was pretty spectacular, with the flat plains around the Dead Sea, Jerico to the North and the outskirts of Jerusalem visible on the hills, especially with the light shining through broken cloud.

you need to get up.. cross the Allenby bridge get over Jericho (u can't because.... well because ;-)) or at high point over the dead sea. The bridge opens at around five. :-( . I saw this when I was at the Jericho area in the army....

Good idea. But I think talking about politics is against the rules of the lounge. :(
