New Windows Logo

So is anyone who uses the phrase it does not try to emulate faux-industrial design characteristics such as materiality (glass, wood, plastic, etc.). Oops.
It was plainly designed by a 10 year old. Who can't draw.

Redesigning the Windows Logo[^ [edit] Wow, it looks like nobody likes it. Well, I kinda like it. It's simple and it finally looks like a damn window.
-
Wow. It takes bland to a new level. That makes me sad.

Coming from a man who runs a site with orange-green design, I think we should take it with a grain of salt :-D

Microsoft and Windows are all about putting technology in people's hands to empower them to find their own perspectives. Oh good grief. Buzzword bingo! I do not need, or look for, technology to empower me or to help me find my own perspective, whatever the heck that means. Marc

Orange and green are two of my favorite colors, and I happen to think that they go together well. In fact, I cruise bars at night with a green, glow-in-the dark redacted in my wallet while searching for young, impressionable Irish girls who are temporarily homeless and have nowhere to go at closing time. I really like orange...

That was so ugly that I just had to join, in order to post a response: "Good Lord, who let the Marketing morons out of the bar? I haven't seen a less interesting logo since CP/M was released. Kill it now, please!!!!" Does anyone know of a user-friendly distro of Linux? I'm not going to "upgrade" to Windows 8 - I've had enough of Microsoft's total disconnect from reality.

With orange hair? Or, how does orange fit into your nightly escapades?

Copying google's new bland interface, playing catch up instead of innovating. I'll be the dissenting voice here, and say that I like the new one. Never did like the windows rainbow waving flag....

It's a logo. I don't like it, I don't dislike it. Is it memorable (hang on while I go back and check)......... don't know, only time will tell.

It's an article about logo design, it wasn't unexpected.

I'll wait until I see it in action before I pass my final judgement, but it does seem rather bland. Though it might be a nice touch that it changes colour depending on which theme you pick, so you won't have a mismatched block of colour just sitting there.

Ditto. It doesn't look very exciting in isolation. With a Win 8 tablet in front of you it might look appropriate. But will it change when you switch to desktop mode? :)
