All I can say Roger, is that is completely Elephanted. From memory things were not going well in her life when she shacked up with you and that you helped raise her kids. Even when the girl(s) gave you extreme grief, you stayed calm and continued to help bring them up as decent people. I hope the girls stay civil and in contact with you. I know you stay calm, I don't. I hope she gets completely Sharapova'd, I'm off to Canberra Zoo in a few minutes to see if I can get an Elephant volunteer that doesn't mind a quick swim to Japan. Not sure if you remember, but many, many years ago I invited you to fly down here to Australia (at your own cost) so you could sit an interview for me (I could search for the email and therefore the link to the post, but I can't be arsed). Not sounding like such a stupid idea now is it Roger.

Hey Michael, I do very well remember that invitation. And I remmeber being called a whinging Pom for not doing it! :-D But then I am a whinging Pom! When she and I got together she was a student working 24/7 to try and bring her 2 daughters up alone. They were 12 and 14 at the time. I basically gave her the chance to actually spend time with her daughters again as I was able to provide a house / home / money which she was scrambling hard to provide. The kids are now well adjusted younge ladies. One is an ambulance driver / paramedic in the London Ambulance Bregade, while the other works for Virgin airlines at Heathrow. I saw them both this weekend. The younger one is coming over during easter to cook me a roast - she won't trust me to cook (and I don't blame her - I don't trust me to cook either). The major thing I went through with them was fighting the Home Office for ~4 years to be able to get them the right to live and stay in the UK, which they all have as of a few years ago. The ex will be visiting again in 3 months and I have said she can bring her new Husband along with her if she wants. That way I can throw them both out on the street ;p (thats a joke btw).

I take it you're not acually married? Wouldn't it bee an crime otherwise (bigamy)? Regardless of that, sorry to hear about it and hope you cope well (I know I didn't when something similarly happened to me).

No, we were never actually married, just thought of her as my Mrs. I am very good a coping. I just need a big enough pile of sand to stick my head in.

Hey, wait a minute. I wouldn't do anything other than putting a curse on her. As far as I know that would be harmless. However your suggestion is good: carving her heart, would be fine, after all. :-D

I know yours is the right attitude, however, wishing her 'all the best' is too much, in my opinion.
