Concentrate on you work. If you do so you would not have had argument in the first place.

Typical American! We are all racist. I make remarks about the Yanks, The Aussies, The Sheep Shaggers Welsh, The Scots, The Irish, The Krauts, The Wops, The Dagos, The Injuns, The Chinks, The Nips, The Saffers, The Argies, The Canucks, The Yids, The Arabs, etc etc etc... I do it in jest and expect, as an English Chap, to be ridiculed back. Don't be so sensitive and precious.

One of our staff misunderstood my behaviour at work place and we had a big argument . During that she started talking about my race and skin color and all. I directly went to HR and made a complain , they are investigating it now. We are supposed to go for discussion this Friday. How should I handle this? I am disturbed , don't want to face that lady during the office hours, but have no option, whenever I see her ,I am feeling really uncomfortable. Any advice guys?

Questions are being asked about the Indian Foreign aid. India is a wealthy country with millions of people worth over a $Million. And yet they give no aid to the poverty stricken and homeless in the third world country that is England. The Caste system here is terrible, and the bottom of the heap are 'The Unemployables' and yet Indian Government does nothing to aid these people. Please petition your government to help England, give a little charity.

What did you do, and how did she "misunderstand" it. As far as being "disturbed" about it, I think you just need to go to the store and buy some big girl panties.

Doesn't mean too much yet, for all we know she said "nice tan bro". Probably not, but you haven't told us much. Can you quote what she actually said?

I sympathise with your plight. Hopefully by the time you meet on Friday, some of the proverbial dust would have settled. I'm sure it'll be uncomfortable until then so keep your integrity on firm foundations. Be civil to her which won't be a natural response but don't give her any opportunity to collate anything against you. My wife is a white South African who works for the NHS. They had a ward meeting some time back and they were discussing how to respond to Asian patients who are abusive to the nurses. The manager said to my wife "there's no point asking her, she's South African and she's a racist." My wife sat there and toyed with the idea of reporting her for her abuse but she didn't. I sometimes think there are more racists here in the UK than I ever knew in SA. :) Best of luck to you.

You take Chinese foreign aid, and £20 Billion later you feel like some more.

"Misunderstanding" is how a lot of harassment claims start. Besides, when you only get part of one side of the story, you gotta wonder what's being left out.

Yeah but would you still respect yourself in the morning?

You never argued with anyone over the work?

No I argue a lot, but it is always work related argument - why the application behaves a certain way or why a particular button is placed where it is on the screen and so on. Also when you are busy with work, it is rare that you will find time for arguments which are not work related. Also the solution for not getting disturbed is to find a distraction. What is a better distraction than work at a workplace.
