A guy I used to work for was told in no uncertain terms that he couldn't use any computing terms for his new dog's name. In the end he settled for PIP - or Peripheral Interchange Program as anyone who worked on DEC computers would know... How about "Bit!" or "Nybble"?

If you need a dog's name: Killer, Fifi, Pooch, Max, ... If you want a 'nerdy' name: Apple, Macintosh, var, IndexOutOfBoundsException or _bMax to combine the _ for global (as some use it, could be a g also) b for boolean and Max as the real dog's name. Alternativaly we once had a cat names Monday (after Robinson Crusoe's friend Friday) and one that was named Macgyver. (the pocket knife dude). Hope this gives you some neat ideas :-)

So I got myself a Yorkshire Terrier cross Jack Russell, like PHS241 suggested I wanted to call him 'Exception' but as English is not my 1st language my family looked at me like I'm talking computer stuff again (my wife is on the other side of the IT literacy scale), so we went for something in our language that I'm struggling to translate, its something like 'palooka' Thanks for all the suggestions though :)
