I just decided to delete from my backup recycle bin all but the most recently deleted files. It took a few minutes to prepare to delete, and now it says it's going to take 30 minutes to delete 206,082 items that total 23.9GB. I think I'll just head out for the day while it finishes. What's the longest it has ever taken to empty your defenestration bin recycle bin?

Actually, I was deleting all my pictures since I've upgraded all my "content" to videos. Before you say "pic or it didn't happen", pic (SFW). :)

Wait till you start moving 200 ior so gigabytes from one USB drive to another on the same USB port. Took many many hours, and had difficutly getting it to succeed (was replacing my backup drive). Fortunately that was with an early laptop.

It would take you less time to go out and buy cheap components, build a computer, setup OS, get the HDDs out, install them in new computer, transfer files and put back those HDDs. You don't even have to install an OS, just use some bootable CD with copy tool and you probably had spare machine laying around... What the hell were you thinking?

Pretty much. It was very painful. Thank god had a better computer after that to transfer files.
