Iran War

You haven't been paying very close attention to the news. Israel just finished developing their own bunker buster.

Oh come on. That's just being stupid. For those who don't know, he's referring to this passage: "I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan" I cannot respect the opinion of someone who makes such a blanket generalisation.

It is. Your anti-US bias is showing.

Achieving what, precisely? Don't you think the 'fallout' of such an action might be ever so slightly detrimental to Iran?
That's risible: it's quite a long way from Israel to Iran and they won't have high yield weapons. Besides, I really don't think they care if some of their own population die if they achieve what they have threatened to do.
ict558 wrote:
Or perhaps something more nuanced, like "This regime that is occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time." Rather as the regime in the USSR did, and as the regime in Iran will, given time.
Wow! Selective ignorance. Breathtaking. Iran has sworn to eradicate both Israel and her Jewish population: you can read it any way you want; doesn't change the truth.
ict558 wrote:
As are the USA and Russia. But, then, the NPT contains 'acceptable intransigence' clauses for those that wrote it.
Now you're trying to deflect. We're not talking about the US or Russia: we're talking about Iran.

Did you copy and paste this from Stratfor - Political Analysts to the Stars?
I have to admnit that I had to look that up: never heard of it before so, no but I'm more than happy if they want to quote me.

No, it is getting the public to accept that Iran is a threat to the USA.

True. I am biased against the government of the USA in the way they are handling the Middle East and Pipelinestan. As for coercion: "If you’re not with us, you’re against us." Neutrality is not an option?

Wow! Accurate translations are a bitch, aren't they? Perhaps you should check out the "Eradication of Israel", "Holocaust Denial", and other quotes, rather than just listening to those who tell you what you want to hear. So am I. What is sauce for the goose ... Perhaps Iran should scrap the NPT and be like India and Pakistan. After all, the NPT was signed by a fiefdom of the USA, rather than the independent country that Iran is today.

Well all of it really: it is blindly anti-everything and utterly blinkered. I wouldn't even know where to begin with such idiotic and misinformed ravings.

Back at you. I think we'll just bat back and forth: we both have strong positions so I suspect we'll end up agreeing to disagree.

On the occassion of the 60th anniversary of the creation of Isreal: "Those who think they can revive the stinking corpse of the usurping and fake Israeli regime by throwing a birthday party are seriously mistaken. Today the reason for the Zionist regime's existence is questioned, and this regime is on its way to annihilation." or "The Zionist regime has lost its raison d'être. Today, the Palestinians identify with your name Khomeini, your memory, and in your path. They are walking in your illuminated path and the Zionist regime has reached a total dead end. Thanks to God, your wish will soon be realized, and this germ of corruption will be wiped off."

Yes

Yes No

Absoltely yes no.
killabyte wrote:

A little inaccurate, in fact, it gets $3 Billions + every year and has received more than $100 Billions since it established itself illegally. A little research and a little commmon sense tell us that all of the above are true. But don't expect people to accept facts who blindly support an imaginary people living in an invented land.

A small technical point for you. BP was not BP (nor was it British Petrolem) at this point. The name of the company was Anglo Iranian Oil Company, and roots to the coup could be traced back to the decision of the former Iranian Prime Minister to nationalse AIOC, which was only guaranteed to lead to the gunboat diplomacy Britain favoured back then.

Sure, but to get things straight: 1. I supported those who wished to replace the Shah of Iran with a secular democratic government; 2. I support those who wish to replace the Ayatollah with a secular democratic government.
