So, after much stressing of the password, and entering it wrong 10 times will wipe all data.... he brings me the iPad this morning, showing the language select screen. Yup.

Why was his iPad configured that way?  It's annoying that the user forgot his password, but isn't it IT's responsibility to configure the device appropriately?  IMHO, they've just made more work for themselves. :( /ravi

It may be a security thing: if the device gets stolen, then the data is at less risk. Me, I'd have given 'em three chances, just like with a cash card...

No argument there.  I just think IT shouldn't complain (or be surprised) that they have to re-initialize the device when it auto-resets. :) /ravi

Security isn't a dirty word, Blackadder Our mobile devices wipe themselves if some things happen too. Can't remember what though.

Every man can tell how many goats or sheep he possesses, but not how many friends.

After I wiped one days before (didn't know setting was on), I questioned this setting, but was overridden.

Crevice is a dirty word, but security isn't.
