But now my Enter key doesn't fit in the hole where the original Tab key was. And the guy at the next desk is looking pretty angry...

What you need is a HackSaw function with the Sandpaper option enabled. ;)

      0. Gently pry the Enter key off the keyboard and set it aside. 1. Gently pry the Tab key off the keyboard then place and gently press into where the Enter key was. 2. Place and gently press the Enter key where the Tab key was. I didn't post as an answer, as it wouldn't provide constructive assistance. But it was tempting....

It was broke, so I fixed it.

I spent the morning prying all the keys off a colleague's keyboard, lining the inside with damp tissue, sowing it with cress seed, then putting the keys back on. That'll teach him for going on holiday.

You need to inherit from .... and override ..... and handle they relevant keys and make a call to ..... It's quite easy but I leave it up to the reader to fill in the missing blanks.

No, this is it! You need to inherit from ..a multi-millionaire chocolate factory owner.. and override ...common decency .. and the rest doesn't really matter! :-D

I keep seeing the same questions being asked in Q&A, all from Indian members. An example being "Make the Tab Key act as the Enter Key" or some variation of that. Is there an exam due? Are papers to be presented by Friday? Are there going to be a lot of disappointed ex-developers running wild across the Sub-Continent come Monday morning?

Sadly our syllabus in college is close to shit. They do not let your brains to grow on its own and explore. They force ur brain to just learn what ever shit is written there and grow with it. They dont even care if you have learn and understood. If you have passed just by remembering the lines its enough. And same shit is in our corporate too. No room for innovation, no importance given to individual talent exploration ( i rem google), no new ideas, no different approach is given importance. Hence at the end of day, every tom dick and harry here will be beating around the same damn bush.

Gently Tippex over the word Enter and use a fine permanent marker to write in the word TAB

Lotus and Excel handle tab and enter differently. Since developers from that part of the world notoriously use Grid controls exclusively I would imagine the goal is to get tab to move down a row instead of across a column.

Most of the Softwares running Indian companies were developed in console type application (In foxpro or dbase something like). so the users are very familiar with Enter key instead of using Tab. Nowadays, Software are developed in GUI based ( .NET or VB6). Still user like to use the Enter key. if we do so, the default OK button will be activated. so that we need to trap the Enter Key to Tab

Strangely, my keyboard is meant for idiots: it has the funny tab arrows and the word "Tab". My Enter key has the arrow and word as well.

For that sake, there are these management dumb folks and syllabus creators who create an illusion of leaf availability.
