I do hope they don't totally naus it up[^]. Any preferences for the cast?

Steven Fry for Hacker. Rowan Atkinson for Humphrey Appleby. Alan Davies as Bernard Woolley

I doubt they can re-do this in our times. This series was simply too funny and one of my favorites -- although (or because) I am not from the UK.

I like the Alan Davies as Woolley and I could see Atkinson as Appleby. Not sure about St. Stephen though.

It was pretty funny if you were from the UK too.

I guess so. And you guys certainly get even more of the subtle points that we non-native speakers miss out on. It was definitely this subtle humor that made it so much more attractive than many of today's comedies. If they are ever going to do a remake I hope they can transport that fine kind of humor.

              Think Lord Melchett.

I was. Too assertive. Not a Hacker trait IMO.

It should keep the subtlety. The original writers are going to be writing it.

I just wish they'd put the original Yes (Prime) Minister on Netflix. At least they have Father Ted now.

Definitely Fry as Sir Humphrey, but I would choose David Mitchell for the role of Bernard. Hugh Bonneville or Richard E Grant for the role of Hacker.

I think Hugh Laurie would be good as Hacker. As someone else has said David Mitchell as Woolley. His actual pedanticism would be a great match for that of Bernard.
